Branch Meetings

Branch meetings are held in Wellington on a monthly basis. These meetings are held as an informal round-table discussion session in the central city. TCANZ members and non members welcome.

Plain Language Group

We have set up a special interest group to focus on plain language for technical communication. Our first meeting was in October 2011. Meetings will alternate with the regular round-table events and the first plain language meeting for 2012 will be in March.

Training Workshops

In addition, training workshops are scheduled 2-3 times each year. Previous workshops include:

• Plain English for technical communicators
• Clinical skills for editors
• Information development for online delivery.

Ideas for the Future

• Guest speakers on usability, information design, localisation, web design, online help authoring, printing, single-sourcing and editing
• Job noticeboard.
