TCANZ Wellington lunch
We kicked off 2011 with lunch at the Backbencher Pub – it was a great way to connect with other technical communicators over platters of deep-fried nibbles. (Maybe we’ll go with a lower cal option another time!) People caught up generally and talked about the latest trends. Topics included plain English, the future of the web, training and information systems at work, websites for small businesses, and issues for non-native English speakers.
By the end of lunch we’d decided to look at plain English for technical communicators for our next session. This will probably be at the end of March or early April – we’ll let you know nearer the time.
As our meeting finished we heard about the devastation of the Christchurch quake. Our thoughts are with all technical communicators there along with their friends and families.
