Plain Language Group

This special interest group (SIG) is a forum about plain language for the community of technical communicators. It was set up on International Plain Language Day, 13 October 2011 and is run by Sarah Maclean.

We aim to hold networking meetings in Wellington every two months.

Each meeting will focus on a topic. The format will be a brief presentation (from an invited speaker or a member of the group) followed by discussion and general networking.

Topics in the pipeline include: Health Literacy, with Rosie Knight, and Why we should use plain language in communication, with Chris Suggate, Project Co-ordinator, KiwiRail.

Everyone interested in plain language is welcome!

Contact Sarah on wgtnplainlanguage@tcanz.org.nz for more information.
