2014 Conference

August 2014

Peacock Fountain - Christchurch Botanical Gardens

I can’t wait for October – the speakers are lined up, the hotel’s all booked, and we’re getting excited about welcoming our TechCommNZ colleagues back to the south.

We haven’t hosted a TechCommNZ conference in Christchurch since 2005 and while the city looks a bit bare and different these days, our southern hospitality is stronger than ever. Rydges in Latimer Square is a fantastic venue and one of the first hotels in the city to be rebuilt. It’s a gorgeous place to stay and on the doorstep of some of the city’s most fascinating attractions. Please let us know if you are bringing a companion to Christchurch with you - we'd like to help welcome them to Christchurch too.

We’ve got two days of action-packed presentations and a day of workshops ready to go. This year’s line-up of speakers is exciting - we’re flying in Dave Holmes from Google, the gorgeous Aussie Tony Self, and from the US the fabulous Carol Barnum and irrepressible Dave Gash. Add to that our stellar homegrown talent (read more about Cathy Gillespie and her work at SCIRT below), and it’s the tech comms event of the year! I promise you won’t leave this conference without learning something new, thinking about something differently, and feeling excited about your profession – guaranteed!

You know you want to come, so make sure you register before September 1 to get the great Earlybird deal. You can find more about the conference programme, the speakers and how much it costs on our conference pages. Having trouble convincing your boss you need to attend? Check out our suggestions for helping your boss say YES.
