Plain Language Bill update

Thank you so much to our members who sent us feedback about the TechCommNZ submission to the Plain Language Bill.
We sent in our submission supporting the bill, and so did a lot of other organisations and individuals! All of the submissions are publicly available for anyone who'd like to read them.
Now it sits with parliament’s appointed select committee, who’ll gather information and prepare a report, including recommendations, for the second reading. The report is due around mid-August 2022.

You might also be interested in keeping an eye on the progress of the international plain language standard the International Standards Organization are developing (ISO/DIS 24495-1). They’ll hopefully publish it sometime in 2022.
