From the President

June

Are you passionate about the Tech Comm profession in NZ?

Our very valued college Luke Pivac is leaving the committee to pursue other exciting opportunities. His input into the association has been invaluable and his contribution to the Let’s Tech Communicate column in the newsletter has kept us all up to date with the latest in our industry.

We’re looking for a new committee member to take Luke’s place. This is an excellent opportunity to get more involved in TechCommNZ and contribute to the evolution of Tech Comm in New Zealand. We’re looking for someone to volunteer 5-10 hours per month. In return you’ll:

  • attend the 2016 TechCommNZ conference in Wellington for free
  • grow your skills in the area of strategic planning and collaboration
  • get some invaluable experience to add to your CV
  • play a pivotal role in influencing the future of the TC profession.

If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity contact thepresident@techcomm.org.nz.

We’re also looking for volunteers to contribute articles, blog posts, presentations and workshops so, if you have a spare hour or two a month, we’d love to hear from you. comms@techcomm.org.nz

TechCommNZ

As I hope you've heard already, the association is changing its name from TCANZ to TechCommNZ. We’ve been delighted to receive some very positive feedback from our members about the change. Thanks for taking the time to let us know what you think. Here’s a selection of you’ve said:

‘I like the new name, and the new logo. Well done!’

‘Wow! It looks fabulous and modern and very us. I think it’s great that the association has recognised that, just like our profession, TechCommNZ must evolve and move with the times. I think the logo does more clearly state who we are and what we are about in a very 21st century way.’

‘The new branding reflects the objectives of the group, and is in line with similar technical communities around the world.’

Be on the lookout for the new look during June.

Events Driven By You

Got a suggestion for a workshop topic, a speaker you’d like to hear or presentation you’d like to give?

We’ve added a new Event Request Form on the website so that you can tell us all about it. Go to Events > Request an Event and complete the form.

You'll be hearing from us again soon, because it's nearly subscription renewal time. Until then, keep the TC flag well and truly hoisted!
