Scrolling in Clover

July 2015

It's here - the latest Southern Communicator is on your doorstep, and on this website (you need to log in to see it).

For those of us who love productivity gains and wonderful applications, Martin Wojczys, secretary of TWIA, has given us a bucketload in Tweaking Your Technical Writing Toolset.

He has found and road-tested some profoundly helpful file, folder, and browser management tools, including:

  • Clover: lets you browse your files and folders in tabs.
  • Folder Marker: lets you add icons and colours to your folders.
  • BeyondCompare: is an essential file and folder comparison tool.
  • KatMouse: saves you microseconds every time you switch focus between apps.

And on it goes - Wojczys also lists Skinny Clock, Classic Shell, and some really useful browser extensions. He does make it clear that he takes no responsibility for these third party apps, and it seems - from looking at reviews of Clover - that it's worth taking some care with installation and the ability to roll back. None-the-less, I'm tempted, as the productivity payback looks significant.

And finally, in the words of Sue Woolley, outgoing editor of Southern Communicator:There is always more room if you would like to contribute to the editorial process and we are always, always looking for interesting articles to publish. If you would like to help by writing or editing, or have any suggestions for topics, please contact Ana at southerncommunicator@techcomm.nz.
